Hey SpeakEasy friends,

Life has a funny way of teaching us lessons, sometimes when we least expect it. We all go through moments that shape us, and as I reflect on mine, I’ve come to realize a few things that I wish I’d understood sooner. Maybe they’ll resonate with you too.

  • Don’t wait for the “perfect moment.”  The truth is, there will never be a perfect time to take the big leap. Life is messy, and you’ll always find reasons to wait. The longer you wait, the harder it gets to take that first step. Start now—imperfectly, messily, and with a little fear. You’ll figure it out as you go.

  • Failure is not the end. Every mistake is a lesson, and every setback opens the door to growth. Don’t be afraid to fail; be afraid of not trying. It’s easy to get caught up in the fear of failure, to think that one setback means it’s over. But here’s the thing: failure is often a stepping stone, not a dead end.

Love, M

I liked my life better before I had kids. Do I love my kids? Yes. Do I enjoy parenting? Not really.

Before kids, I had freedom. I had quiet. I had time to just be. And now life is loud and messy and exhausting in ways that aren’t as rewarding as everyone makes them out to be. I know most parents talk about their kids as if it’s the best thing to ever happen to them.

I just don't feel that way.

The absolute best feeling on earth is peeing outside. If anyone reading this hasn't tried it, you're really missing out. Thank me later.
